Perkembangan riset extended reality (XR) dalam produksi animasi digital berdasarkan publikasi terindeks

Abstract
Teknologi extended reality (XR) mencakup virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), dan mixed reality (MR) telah menjadi bagian yang semakin lekat dengan proses produksi animasi digital, mulai dari pemodelan tiga dimensi, penangkapan gerak, hingga penyajian karakter virtual kepada penonton. Meski demikian, pemetaan sistematis terhadap arah dan struktur riset di persimpangan XR dan animasi komputer masih jarang dilakukan. Studi ini menganalisis 220 artikel jurnal terindeks Scopus yang diterbitkan pada 2016–2025 menggunakan pendekatan bibliometrik dengan bantuan Biblioshiny (Bibliometrix) dan VOSviewer. Hasil audit data menunjukkan tren publikasi yang meningkat, dengan lonjakan tajam pada 2022–2023 dan 2025, didominasi oleh jurnal Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds serta kontributor dari Tiongkok dan Amerika Serikat. Analisis co-occurrence kata kunci mengidentifikasi empat klaster tematik utama: klaster inti virtual reality–computer animation, klaster pemodelan tiga dimensi, klaster kecerdasan buatan dan pendidikan, serta klaster metodologis terkait simulasi dan artikel manusia. Peta tematik memperlihatkan bahwa tema virtual reality dan animasi menempati kuadran motor themes, sedangkan augmented reality untuk pembelajaran (e-learning, students) justru berada pada kuadran tema yang muncul atau meredup, mengindikasikan pergeseran minat riset dari sekadar penerapan AR edukatif menuju integrasi VR yang lebih mendalam dengan kecerdasan buatan generatif. Analisis kolaborasi negara menunjukkan jaringan yang masih berpusat pada aksis Tiongkok–Amerika Serikat–Eropa, dengan keterlibatan negara Asia Tenggara, termasuk Indonesia, yang jauh lebih terbatas. Temuan ini menegaskan adanya kesenjangan representasi Global South dalam jaringan produksi pengetahuan XR-animasi, sekaligus membuka ruang bagi riset baru yang menghubungkan XR, pembelajaran mesin generatif, dan produksi animasi karakter di kawasan yang masih under-represented tersebut.
